The concert carries the scent of France with its spirited words and sensual melodies, capturing all the nuances. Rita Strohl, born in 1865, was considered a genius in her time, with her songs being particularly esteemed. The final piece to be heard, Chausson's Chanson perpétuelle for soprano and quintet, is a unique, rarely performed gem.
