Lotus Tinat
Violin
Lotus Tinat is a Finnish-Iranian violinist originally from Helsinki. Important teachers along her journey have included Jerzy Blaszkiewicz and Erkki Palola at the Helsinki Conservatory, as well as Professor Kaija Saarikettu in the youth education program at the Sibelius Academy. Currently, she studies under Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen-Pilch and Professor Cecilia Zilliacus at the Sibelius Academy. Tinat has received additional guidance from masterclasses by Hagai Shaham, Réka Szilvay, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Barbara Dollin, Elina Vähälä, Liza Ferschtman, and Mi-Kyung Lee.
Tinat has had success in both Finnish and international competitions from a young age, with her most recent achievement being a finalist in the Kuopio Violin Competition in spring 2020. As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras such as the Helsinki City Orchestra, Kuopio City Orchestra, Seinäjoki City Orchestra, and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, being one of the young soloists of the year in 2019.
Tinat is a sought-after orchestral musician, regularly performing with orchestras such as the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki City Orchestra, and Tapiola Sinfonietta. In the 2023–24 season, she holds a temporary position in the 1st violin section of the Finnish National Opera Orchestra. Currently, she plays on a Carlo Antonio Testore violin generously loaned by the OP Financial Group’s Art Foundation.
