Erkki Palola

Viola

Violist Erkki Palola studied at the Sibelius Academy under Professor Anja Ignatius. Palola has worked as a teacher at the Oulu Conservatory, Sibelius Academy, and Helsinki Conservatory. He has served as the first violinist and concertmaster of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and since 1991, he has been a member of the Helsinki City Orchestra. Palola has collaborated with various chamber ensembles, with his most significant work being with the Kerava Quartet from 1985 to 2006. His discography includes three recordings as a conductor and over a dozen chamber music recordings. Erkki Palola is also a member of the Society of Finnish Composers.
