The composers featured in this concert were contemporaries and leading figures in German music at the beginning of the 19th century. Weber, whose virtuoso quintet opens the concert, is best known for his popular opera, Der Freischütz. Beethoven’s extensive oeuvre is dominated by instrumental music, with this String Quartet in C-sharp minor, Op. 131 being one of its pinnacles.

(As an aside: neither composer was of noble birth, despite the suggestion of their surnames' prefixes.)

Tickets 30 €, pensioners 25 €, students and children under 18 years old 15 € + fees from 1,5 €
