Marko Hilpo

Marko Hilpo is one of Finland's most versatile pianists, who also works as a conductor and arranger. 

Hilpo has studied at the Sibelius Academy under Hamsa Al-Wadi Juris and Ilmo Ranta, and at the Queen Sofia Music Academy in Madrid under Professors Dmitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martinez Mehner. Hilpo, who has won prizes in international competitions, has performed as a recitalist, pianist and chamber musician all over the world, as well as playing as a soloist with several Finnish orchestras and performing at international music festivals. 

Marko Hilpo works at the Sibelius Academy and the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts, Helsinki City Theatre, where he has been conductor in several musicals, including Billy Elliot, Maya of the Stormy Sea, Kinky Boots and The Little Mermaid. Hilpo has arranged and orchestrated chamber music and several orchestral works, and has also arranged music for theatres.
